Alif is clean, comfortable, efficient and modern, with friendly staff and a breakfast room with a superb view and good breakfast selection. It's fifteen minutes walk from the Gulbenkian and very handy to airport, metro, Entre Campos mainline train station (goes to Sintra) and the university, so getting anywhere is no problem. It may not have all the swank facilities of more expensive hotels, but for its price (generously discounted via Cheaperthanhotels site) it is totally acceptable. Recommended for the active tourist.
