Apart from repainting of the exterior and the public areas it's difficult to see just what was "recently renovated". The room decor and fittings are late 1980s - and have the worn look to prove it. Bathrooms have similarly old fixtures and vintage threadbare towels - hygiene is not their strong point. There is no aircon. Breakfast would be appropriate for a correctional institution. The streets around the hotel have an interesting populations of vagrants and damaged people.

The hotel is more down-market 2 star than 4 star. The rooms are shabby with poor quality furniture. There is no air conditioning - so you open the windows and in come the mosquitoes. Bathroom hygiene is questionable - on arrival the bathroom smelled sour & rancid - like a urinal that hadn't been cleaned for a week. The breakfast is meagre in scope and poor in quality. Brioche & croissants are inedible. The "ham" is some sort of reformed meat product - tastes awfull. The "fruit juice" is over diluted fruit squash. There were no eggs or yoghurt. The breakfast waitress was decidedly unfriendly. The area around the hotel has an interesting collection of junkies, alcoholics, and mentally damaged persons. The hotel does not accept credit cards - cash only
