Paseo de Gracia Guide

Paseo de Gracia is an important tourist destination, and in addition to being one of Barcelona’s major streets, it is a centre for shopping and business opportunities.

The area is home to many hotels that cater for the business traveller. However, there is also family friendly accommodation here, and the price range is quite wide. Visitors looking for a luxury stay are well provided for, as are families who wish to spend as little money as possible, while still enjoying a comfortable stay in the city.

Top Things in Paseo de Gracia

It is hard to stay in Barcelona without spending at least some time shopping. Whether it is fashion, souvenirs, or children’s toys being sought out, over 100 shops of Bulevard Rosa will provide.

Taking a walk through Illa de la Discòrdia will expose the traveller to buildings by four important modernist architects.

The Museum of Perfume is a popular landmark and it should not be missed.

Paseo de Gracia Hotels

Because of the commercial nature of the area, business centres featuring computers, printers and faxes are a common amenity in most levels of Paseo de Gracia accommodation. The suites are most often in a more modern style and there are several five-star and four-star hotels available. It is also relatively easy to find cheap hotels in Paseo de Gracia and some offer amenities such as swimming pools.

Eating Out

La Rita is one of the more popular restaurants in the area. Considering the upscale atmosphere that this restaurant provides, the menu prices are quite low. The menu here is small, staying mostly to what is in season at the time, and thus the emphasis of a meal in La Rita is on freshness. The hitch is that this restaurant is only open for lunch, serving mostly light fare such as carpaccio and tartar.
