Atelier Cezanne, Provence
|
Lotissement Les Lauves 13540 Aix-en-Provence France
The enchanting palette of Provence was to provide inspiration for one of its most famous sons, Paul Cézanne who bridged the major art movements of impressionism and cubism. Check out his studio on Les Lauves (the hill) in Aix en Provence to feel the presence of the painter and get an insight into his life and work. With its original furnishings and memorabilia, the studio retains much of its atmosphere.
Constructed in 1902, Atelier Cezanne was where the artist laboured daily to render the local vistas of the orange, olive and fig trees, ochre earth, poppy and sunflowers, and blue skies into canvases that surprise and delight.
