Away from the pulsating clubs and discos of Ibiza town is San Ciriaco, an area untouched by the frantic fun of holidaymakers. San Ciriaco is both the name of a cobbled street and the delightful chapel (Capilla de San Ciriaco) that lies in it. According to legend, this is where soldiers from the mainland breached the Moorish citadel to conquer the island for King Jaime 1 in 1235. The street continues to Ibiza's cathedral in Dalt Vila, the old part of the town.
