Christ Church Cathedral

Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland

Christ Church (The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity) occupies a fine elevated site in the old part of Dublin, overlooking the River Liffey. A place of worship has stood here since 1038, though the present structure dates from the 1870s. Christ Church is the elder of Dublin's medieval cathedrals. It has been the seat of the archbishop of Dublin since medieval times, though it shared this position with the newer St. Patrick's for many centuries. As one of Dublin's finest historic buildings, Christ Church is a must-visit. Its magnificent interior features remarkable stonework, pointed arches, and supporting columns.
