Glasgow Cathedral

2 Castle Street, Glasgow, G4 0, United Kingdom

Glasgow Cathedral occupies an auspicious site where Saint Mungo, the patron saint of Glasgow, is said to have built his first church. It's situated next to Glasgow Royal Infirmary just outside the city centre. This Medieval masterpiece of Gothic architecture is also called the High Kirk of Glasgow. Though it bears the name cathedral, a bishop hasn't sat here since the 17th century. It still has an active congregation as well as being a popular draw for tourists. The steeple houses a great bell, twelve feet one inch in circumference.
