La Casa de Pilatos
|
Casa de Pilatos, Plaza de Pilatos, 1, 41003, Seville, Spain
The Casa de Pilatos (House of Pilate), an Andulusian palace located next to the Plaza de Pilatos, is well worth a visit for its fascinating architecture and museum. It was so named because its owner the Marquis of Tarifa revamped it in the style of Pontius Pilate's house following a trip to Jerusalem in the 16th century. Its architecture comprises an intriguing blend of Italian Renaissance and Spanish Mudéjar style. The main patio is adorned with sculptures of Roman emperors and Greek gods and open out onto two delightful gardens with fountains.
