Vatican Museums (Musei Vaticani) is located in the Vatican City, in Rome , Italy. 

The Vatican Museums contain the world's most valuable collection of artworks including paintings by Da Vinci and Caravaggio, Raphael, Nicolas Poussin and Titian, the Sistine and Niccoline Chapels, and the Gallery of Maps.

The museums were founded in 1503 by the newly-elected Pope Julius II. Countless artworks were added over the following centuries and the collections were organised by several popes during the 18th century. Other than huge collections of books and paintings and the papal apartments, the Sistine Chapel, and the Stanze della Segnatura decorated by Raphael are on the route through the Vatican Museums.
